In the ramified structures of the so called Viennese art world, whose effects often seem to lead into stimulus satiation and blunting, it’s especially
hard for young artists and trends aside mainstream to attract medial interests.
That’s why the programme “kit” started as a kind of display and communication platform for young artists. Of course this focus does not prevent “kit” to offer a wider view across city, country and gender boundaries. In this manner a contact print of not yet established art is developed once a month with its various references.
“kit” is an interactive „media construction set”, a mixture of reports, interviews, discussion, and also platform for art videos and other TV-transportable
kinds of art. Art may and shall speak for itself.
The concept of the show is based on a modular system which allows building a collage of the artistic off space scene and the groups own artistic
ideas. “kit” sees it purpose not only as a catalyst and network for young artists, but also tries to occupy some of the media space in Vienna.
